Emuna is the central mitzva

The Maharsha in Makos 23B writes that from Hashem’s point of view there is only one mitzva – Emuna. That is why Hashem only said the first two ‘Dibros’ to klal yisroel, as they contain the positive and negative commands for Emuna. The other mitzvos are needed only from our point of view, to help us achieve Emuna.
