Admitting wrong

The Gemora in Nida 30B says that before people are born they make them swear to be righteous, but to view themselves as evil.
Nobody is perfect, so a person has to be willing to admit that they have evil in them. Otherwise, they would distort the truth, and claim their evil deeds are righteous. Admitting they’re not perfect, will allow them to be truly happy, since they won’t have to pretend that they’re perfect.
