Even though in the World to Come we will more in tune on our relationship to Hashem. Only in this world we could advance closer to Hashem. The way we are when we depart this world that how we will stay forever.

Rabbeinu Bechai in parshas Behaaloscha writes that Hashem is the source of light and Hashem wants to bestow his light upon us. Why are we in darkness? Because we erected a wall between us and Hashem. What is the wall between us and Hashem? Our materialism.

I cannot grasp why we fail to utilize this amazing gift that Hashem gave us. Davening works for everything, R’ Chatzkel Levinshtein Z”L writes that even if a person is missing a limb, he should trust in Hashem that a new limb could grow. If he does not, he would be held accountable for not trusting in Hashem and turning to Him.

A while ago I reflected that I don’t merit fulfilling the great Mitzvah of hosting guests. I didn’t know how to go about finding guests to host. I prayed to Hashem to help me fulfill this great Mitzvah. Hashem in His great compassion listened to my prayers and sent our way several opportunities to host guests. I’m especially grateful of meriting hosting regularly a needy Talmid Chochom.   Thank You Hashem.
